Welcome to the Student Urbanism Society (SUS)!
We’re a vibrant community of students from the University of Sydney who share a passion for cities, urbanism, and planning. Based at the School of Architecture, Design and Planning (ADP), our society brings together students across disciplines to connect, learn, and thrive.
At SUS, we aim to foster an inclusive environment where urban enthusiasts can explore their interests, meet like-minded peers, and engage with professionals in the field. Whether you’re studying urban design, planning, or just love exploring the dynamics of city life and cities, we’ve got something for you.
From networking events and guest lectures to social and wellbeing activities like walks and trivia nights, SUS is here to enrich your student experience. We also collaborate with other societies, industry groups, and ADP staff to ensure you get the most out of your time at university—both academically and socially.

We’re always looking for new volunteers! Areas where you can choose to help out include event organisation, magazine production, social media, marketing and graphic design, administration/secretarial matters, and finance/treasurer matters. Want to be part of the next executive team?
Keep an eye on our social media and your email inbox for updates on upcoming Annual General Meeting dates and election timelines—usually held in May. In the meantime, joining the Society as a volunteer can help you gain experience in helping out with various executive team duties.
